The goal of The Lighthouse Futures Trust in Leeds is to partner with special schools and colleges to support the growth of employment opportunities for those furthest away from sustainable employment, including those young people aged 18-24 years with autistic spectrum conditions, related communication disorders and other Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
What we did:
CML Consultants worked with the newly appointed Programme and Development Manager, who was from a non-charity background, to plan a strategic approach to bid writing. The support took the form of two days of one-to-one coaching, working through outcomes, outputs, activities and budgeting across a 5-year plan. Specific support was also given to write the first bid (to Esmee Fairbairn).
In the two weeks since the coaching sessions, the coachee has submitted five bids in total to different funders, having never written a grant funding bid before! At the time of writing, she awaits the outcome of all the bids with baited breath!
“I can wholeheartedly recommend Catherine; she is delightful to work with, has a wealth of knowledge re: bid writing, strategy and management. You won’t be disappointed if you work with her and if your organisation relies on funding then this is the one person you need to talk to! I am so glad that as a charity we did.”
